The first steel-cutting taking place in WOE's mainworkshop today marks the start of construction for the world largest Type Ctanks which are customized for the world first made 85,000cbm VLEC.

  The loading capacity of one tank is up to 23,000cbm with the steel construction weight of 1,800 tons, since it adopts the world's most advanced Tri-lobe design which was done by in-house engineering team. Comparing with the traditional bi-lobe tank design, it offers 20% more loading capacity without changing the length and width of the vessel.

  The supply contract of total 20 cargo tanks and 10 fuel tanks for five 85,000cbm VLECs between Dalian Shipbuilding Industry Offshore (DSICOffshore) and WOE was signed on the same day with the shipbuilding contractsigning for this project between JHW Engineering & Contracting (JHW) and DSIC Offshore on 11th of Dec, 2015. 

  The first two tanks will be delivered and transported to DSIC Offshore for final installationin May of 2017, while the five 85,000cbm VLECs will delivered from March of 2018 forbringing US ethane from shale gas to the Oriental Energy’s manufacturing sitesin China.

  WOE is a joint venture invested by Watts Gallop and JACCAR Holdings since May of 2015, and since then, the additional investments were carried out to accommodate mega tanks and other ultra-heavy units manufacturing and installation, and will be fully completed by October this year.

  The successful construction of mega tanks for 85,000m3 VLEC will make WOE the unique manufacturing platform in China for the world largest type C cargo tanks as well as one of major cornerstones for JACCAR to build the “Maritime Gas SilkRoad” from US shale gas to Asia and Europe.
